THE ROSKILDE FESTIVAL

A real heavy hitter of the festival world, Roskilde Festival has been wowing huge crowds for nearly 50 years, with almost unparalleled lineups (it marks its 50th edition in 2020). And since the very beginning, the festival has been run as a not-for-profit organisation, with festival-goers given the chance to nominate organisations to receive funding from the money raised.

In addition to the great music and the honourable social conscience, Roskilde Festival has developed a reputation for its impressive campsites and bonkers traditions, including the notorious ‘Naked Run’ on the Saturday of the festival.

Seven stages host one of the biggest festival lineups around. The famous campsites are spread across 80 hectares, split up into zones, called “Agoras”, with each one acting as a hub for parties, showers, toilets, food, shops and more.

Roskilde Festival 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. All tickets can be rolled over to the 2021 edition. You can read the festival’s full statement here
